Job description
Operations Group Entry-Level PositionThis is an entry-level position in the Operations group for someone eager to learn mechanical assembly and finishing operations under direct supervision. You will perform various assembly, sealing, and finishing tasks on production hardware, including hermetic sealing, laser welding, paint touch-up, epoxy application, and hardware installation. This role provides hands-on training in laser operations, mechanical assembly techniques, quality inspection, and manufacturing processes following our Manufacturing Execution System.Job ResponsibilitiesPerforming basic hermetic sealing operations using laser welder under supervisionLearning to work in a glovebox environment with machine tools and precision instrumentsPerforming paint touch-up on production assemblies as neededApplying epoxy sealing and epoxy staking to components per work instructionsTorquing hardware to specification using torque wrenches and following documented proceduresInterpreting drawings, written instructions, and routers to complete assigned tasksInspecting completed work for conformance to specifications with guidanceReading and following laser weld diagrams, drawings, and assembly instructionsLoading fixtures and making basic process adjustments under supervisionUtilizing a microscope to inspect parts and identify quality issuesPerforming basic tooling setup per work instructionsMaintaining quality standards through understanding of the Quality Management SystemMonitoring and documenting operational issues and reporting to supervisorMeeting production schedules and deadlines according to quality standardsSelf-monitoring of workmanship and seeking feedback for improvementUnderstanding and following all safety requirements in use of manufacturing equipmentUpdating job knowledge by participating in training opportunities and reading technical publicationsOther duties as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredAbility to read and follow assembly drawings, routers, and written/verbal instructions in EnglishBasic mechanical aptitude and manual dexterityWillingness to learn laser equipment, tooling, and processesBasic computer skillsBasic problem-solving skillsAbility to lift 50 poundsPreferred Qualifications0-2 years of experience in manufacturing environment preferred but not requiredFlexible and willing to work on a variety of jobs depending on business needKnowledge of or willingness to learn ESD proceduresEnthusiastic, cooperative, and positive attitudeAttention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructionsStrong work ethic and ability to work in a team environmentAbility to multi-task in a flexible and changing environmentCapable of working in a customer-focused, deadline-driven environmentPrevious experience with hand tools, torque wrenches, or precision instrumentsPost-secondary technical education or CNC trainingGood verbal and written communication skillsThis position requires you to access information that is subject to U.S. export regulations.
