Mechanical AssemblerMechanical Assembler | San Francisco, California Full-time | Temp-to-Hire Targeted pay rate: $32-39/hr depending on qualifications Kelly Engineering seeks a Mechanical Assembler to join our clients growing team building construction robots and other heavy-duty equipment designed for real-world job sites. This is a hands-on assembly position where you'll work from technical drawings, use a variety of tools, and help bring mechanical and electro-mechanical systems together.The ideal candidate has solid mechanical aptitude, pays close attention to detail, and enjoys building and troubleshooting physical equipment.ResponsibilitiesAssemble mechanical and electro-mechanical components including frames, brackets, panels, and actuators.Work from blueprints, assembly drawings, schematics, and written work instructions.Use hand and power tools to assemble, fasten, position, and adjust components.Measure components and verify fit, alignment, and tolerances using calipers, gauges, and other measurement tools.Install and route cables, hoses, and basic wire harnesses.Perform basic functional checks on completed assemblies and record results.Safely move and position larger components using appropriate lifting equipment.Keep the assembly area organized, clean, and ready for production.Track parts and communicate inventory needs to the appropriate team.Follow required safety procedures and report potential hazards.Identify opportunities to improve assembly processes, quality, and efficiency.What You'll Need:1+ years of mechanical assembly experience, preferably involving manufacturing, heavy equipment, robotics, or electro-mechanical products.Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving ability.Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and basic measurement equipment.Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and assembly instructions.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift 25–50 lbs. as needed.Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing/shop environment.Ability to work effectively as part of a team.Nice to Have Skills:Experience assembling industrial robots or automated equipment.Experience working in a prototype, R&D, or low-volume build environment.Familiarity with electro-mechanical components such as motors, sensors, cables, and wiring harnesses.All applicants applying for this job opening must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and are required to have US residency at the time of application.
