We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer for an established industrial manufacturer focused on engineered mechanical equipment. This individual will develop mechanical designs from initial requirements through fabrication and assembly, ensuring drawings, specifications, and project schedules are effectively managed.

The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical equipment, industrial manufacturing, or another technical design environment. This role requires someone who takes ownership, communicates confidently, and can coordinate multiple internal teams to keep projects moving forward.

Key Responsibilities:

Translate project specifications into mechanical equipment layouts, component designs, weldments, and assemblies

Develop accurate 3D models and detailed drawing packages for fabrication, machining, and assembly

Check designs for completeness and compliance with drafting standards and project requirements

Prioritize design deliverables to meet project schedules and milestones across multiple assignments

Assist Project Managers with drawings and technical information for customer submittals

Complete design calculations and incorporate motors, gearboxes, chain drives, shafts, and bearings

Coordinate with engineering, sales, sourcing, and manufacturing to resolve technical questions

Work with shop personnel to address fabrication, machining, and assembly issues

Visit plant sites occasionally for field measurements, installation support, and troubleshooting

Contribute improvements to equipment design, product quality, and manufacturability

Qualifications:

At least 3 years of hands-on 3D modeling experience, totaling approximately 6,000+ hours; SolidWorks preferred

At least 3 years of experience designing mechanical equipment, weldments, and assemblies

Strong understanding of drafting standards and the ability to produce fabrication-level drawings

Experience with mechanical power transmission components and supporting design calculations

Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and practical problem-solving skills

Clear communication skills and the ability to resolve technical issues collaboratively

Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and changing priorities

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Experience:

Advanced SolidWorks proficiency or Certified SolidWorks Professional certification

At least 2 years of AutoCAD experience in 2D design and detailing

Knowledge of welding, machining, bending, punching, and related fabrication processes

Experience with conveyors, bulk storage systems, or other material handling equipment

Background in municipal water and wastewater treatment equipment

Familiarity with electrical power, instrumentation, and controls

If you are an experienced Mechanical Designer ready to take ownership of equipment designs, develop detailed fabrication drawings, and drive successful execution across engineering and manufacturing teams, please respond with an updated resume.
