Job Description Job Description Lead role in the mechanical design aspects for new projects including design and modeling for new applications. Provide technical guidance on existing projects.
Summary of essential job functions
Analyze existing drawings and supporting documentation for use in pending Customer proposals.
Create new drawings/designs based upon pre-existing products or based upon Customer requests/specifications and/or engineering specifications.
Prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for direct submittal to Customers.
Project order entry, scheduling, bill of materials generation, production job packets, and component / raw material purchasing.
Minimum requirements
2-year associate degree or technical certificate in drafting/mechanical design or directly related field.
Understanding of mechanical processes, tolerances, IDs etc.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Abilities required
Proficiency in SolidWorks 2010 or higher
Part creation, assembly, detail drawings, bill of materials and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Strong MS Office skills
Extensive knowledge of materials with a strong emphasis on ceramic and metal properties
Must be detail oriented.
