Job description

BB&E is an employee-owned full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.

Position Summary

BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to join our team providing technical support to the 341st Civil Engineer Squadron (341 CES) on-site at Malmstrom, AFB, Montana.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Ability to plan, organize, and lead others in studies, designs, and construction projects, record and manage processes and documentation, and negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations, where proposals involve substantial resources and require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relationships.

Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, navigating throughout the missile field on both paved and gravel road.

Requirements

Key Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship and a DoD Secret Clearance is required

Knowledge:

Professional knowledge of engineering/planning concepts, standards, methods, and techniques to effectively apply theories, principles, and concepts to installation community planning. technical competency in installation development planning, comprehensive planning, compatible use planning, and asset management.

Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Software: Proficiency using MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.

Self-Starter: Highly motivated, with the ability to solve problems and function as a member of a team.

Experience & Education

Experience: Required: Must have a minimum of one (1) year of mechanical/electrical experience.

Education: Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The physical demands and work environment will vary based on the position, assigned duties, and work location. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Remain in a stationary position for extended periods

Move throughout offices, facilities, and project sites

Reach, grasp, handle equipment, and operate controls

Communicate effectively and review documents, equipment, and site conditions

Lift and carry materials or equipment weighing 10-50 pounds, when required by the assignment

Stand or walk for extended periods and occasionally climb, kneel, or crouch

Navigate uneven or rough terrain, when required

Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Occasionally enter confined spaces or work at heights, when required

Wear required personal protective equipment

Work in environments that may include noise, dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards, construction activity, or other site-specific conditions
