Role Overview

Apply your media, publishing, and communications law expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through high-quality, real-world legal analysis. This remote contract role focuses on the reasoning, judgment, and practical context that shape legal work involving content, publishing, broadcasting, and communications.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert legal analysis on media, publishing, and communications law questions, including rights clearance, content licensing, and regulatory compliance.

Work through realistic scenarios involving content licensing, broadcast regulation, and pre-publication review, clearly explaining the reasoning behind each conclusion.

Identify questions that are unsettled, jurisdictionally contested, or dependent on facts that could change the answer.

Review and validate other contributors'' work for legal accuracy and clarity of reasoning.

Document analysis clearly so the underlying reasoning is as useful as the conclusion.

Escalate ambiguous or poorly framed scenarios to project coordinators rather than resolving uncertainty without notice.

Deliver assigned work on schedule and at the required quality level.

Qualifications

J.D. and an active U.S. bar admission in good standing.

At least 5 years of substantive, hands-on media or communications law practice. Supervisory-only experience or adjacent exposure does not meet this requirement.

Experience in media and entertainment transactions, publishing rights, or FCC communications regulatory matters.

A corporate law foundation, ideally developed at a Vault 100 firm.

Strong attention to detail, sound judgment under conflicting pressures, and expertise in rights and content licensing, FCC and broadcast regulation, pre-publication and First Amendment review, and media transactions.

Prior AI experience is not required.
