Medical Assistant for Urology Team in TarzanaJoin a specialized Urology team in Tarzana, where you'll help create a seamless patient experience from check-in through clinical care. If you have strong outpatient experience, a background in Urology or Women's Health, and enjoy being the person who can step in wherever the team needs you, we want to hear from you.Apply today!Job DetailsCompetitive pay: $28.00 - $29.00 per hourGreat Schedule: Monday - FridayShift Times: 8:30am-5:30pmDuration: 26 weeks (6 months)Start Date: 10/5/2026Department: Outpatient Urology ClinicLocation: Tarzana, CaliforniaBenefitsGreat working locationHealth insuranceRefer-a-friend bonusWeekly payroll24-hour accessibilityPersonalized serviceRequiredHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentMedical Assistant Diploma from DAPIP-accredited programMinimum of 3 years of Medical Assisting experienceMinimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient settingExperience in Urology or Women's HealthEpic ExperienceBLS - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)Proficiency with venipuncture and blood/lab drawsExperience with patient check-in, insurance verification, and referralsAbility to support both front-office/PSR and clinical Medical Assistant responsibilitiesAbility to float as neededPreferredCMA - Certified Or Registered Medical AssistantExperience in a private physician officeExperience with authorization forms and chart preparationExperience with telephone triageExperience assisting with urological proceduresKnowledge of sterile/aseptic techniqueResponsibilitiesPerform patient check-in and front-office/PSR duties, including insurance verification and referral support.Assist patients with questions and appropriately direct or escalate clinical concerns to the appropriate team member.Support MA/LVN break coverage and provide hands-on clinical assistance as needed.Room patients and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.Obtain and document patient histories, medications, allergies, height, weight, vital signs, and pulse oximetry.Perform venipuncture, blood/lab draws, and specimen collection.Collect, label, and process urine and other applicable specimens.Perform urine dipstick/urinalysis as appropriate.Prepare patients for examinations, including appropriate positioning and draping.Set up and assist with urological procedures, including cystoscopies, urodynamics, and urinary catheter placement.Assist with additional in-office patient care, including removal of bandages or stitches as appropriate.Apply sterile/aseptic technique, including preparing procedure trays, surgical sites, and drapes.Administer medications, injections, and immunizations within scope of practice as needed.Assist with patient follow-up calls, pharmacy/refill requests, and other patient communications.Prepare exam rooms, stock supplies, and maintain an organized, patient-ready clinical environment.Accurately document patient and clinical information in EPIC.Provide compassionate, professional support to adult and geriatric patients.Float as needed and support the team across front-office and clinical responsibilitiesAbout UsPower Personnel has been working with healthcare professionals like you since 1994.
