Medical Assistant 2The Medical Assistant is the first contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative tasks in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. You will perform computations, and other tasks, and report to the Center Administrator.The Medical Assistant performs clinical tasks such as:Document patient symptoms in EMRTake and record vital signsAdminister injectionsPerform diagnostic testsCollect specimens and draw bloodSterilize equipmentMaintain examination roomsOther tasks as assignedRequired:Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from ProviderPhlebotomy experienceMedication/vaccine administration experienceCPR CertifiedThis role is patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.Preferred:Certified or Registered – (Arizona, Indiana, and South Carolina you require Medical Assistant Certification or Registration)Bilingual in English and SpanishValue-based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.Work Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 to 5:00This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.Humana values personal identity protection.
