Medical AssistantMinimum Requirements:High School diploma or G.E.DGraduated from an Accredited Medical Assistant ProgramCMA or CCMA certifiedAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, patients, and representatives of outside agenciesProfessional demeanor and appearanceDemonstrated proficiency in assessing and delivering care to a diverse populationAdult, Infant, and Child CPR (BLS) certificationAvailability to work Monday - Friday between the hours of 8 am - 6 pm, including rotating weekend coverage for Saturday clinicKey Responsibilities:Patient Preparation:Take and record vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature) for all patients according to established protocolsPerform tests including EKGs, vision and hearing screenings, and oxygen saturation as requestedPrepare exam rooms and assist providers as neededMaintain confidentiality of all patient and health center informationSchedule patient appointments and follow-upsComply with HIPAA regulationsOversee provider schedule and patient flowPerform other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing (DON), or Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)Maintenance of Lab/Work Areas:Keep work areas, exam rooms, and labs clean and organizedMaintain Universal Precautions at all times; follow protocols for blood/body fluid spillsOrder lab and clinic supplies as neededInspect supplies in exam rooms and supply closet at least quarterly and document in log booksLaboratory/Clinical Assistance:Review the order sheet and complete requisitions according to insurance/grant requirementsAdminister vaccines as directed by the provider upon completion of certificationCollect and process lab specimens, ensuring specimen integrityPerform urinalysis, hCG, flu, Covid, strep testing, fingerstick blood glucose, hgb, and lead testingRecord completed lab work in lab logs dailyAutoclave instruments and record weekly spore countACO:Assist with quality improvement (QI) projects to support HRSA, UDS, NCC, ACO, and PCMH quality measuresWorking Conditions:Work performed in a busy outpatient clinic with direct patient contactFrequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting requiredUse of computers, phones, and standard medical office equipment.Must be able to respond quickly in urgent or emergent situations.Salary Range: $19-$25.53Licenses & Certifications:Preferred Medical Assistant ProgramEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
