Job description
Medical Assistant CertifiedUnder general supervision of the department manager, medical staff, nursing staff, and Sr Medical Assistant/Lead Medical Assistant, the Certified Medical Assistant follows policies, procedures, and professional guidelines. The Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical and clerical support such as patient rooming in addition to assistance with medical procedures, cleaning of equipment, chart preparation, obtaining referral notes, images and lab results prior to patient visits.Essential Functions:Demonstrates a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical procedures.Skill in drawing blood for laboratory testing and ensuring proper specimen handlingCompetency in using electronic health record systems for accurate documentation and retrieval of patient informationProficient in performing clinical tasks, including patient rooming, and ensuring proper cleaning and maintenance of medical equipment.Demonstrates the ability to prepare for and assist with medical procedures.Demonstrates the ability to perform various clerical duties essential to the operations of the practice, including but not limited to, answering phones professionally, greeting patients, filing, faxing and scanning of documents.Demonstrates all of the Medical Assistant KSA'sQualifications:High School Diploma or GED Clinical Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant Or MA-ARMA Basic Life Support Minimum of 3 months of experience in a healthcare settingPrimary Location: TampaWork Locations: USF Health Cardiology 509 S.
