Job description

Medical AssistantOur busy dermatology practice is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join our team! In addition to a strong commitment to customer service, the ideal candidate must have the ability to multi-task in a busy office, have a positive attitude, and be a team player!Job DescriptionAssisting physicians during examinations and proceduresRecording patient histories & medicationsAdministering injections as directed by healthcare providersPreparing examination rooms and sterilizing instrumentsPerforming basic laboratory tests and handling laboratory specimensEducating and advising patients on prescribed treatmentsScheduling patient appointments and managing medical recordsFacilitating communication between the patient and healthcare teamEnsuring compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standardsManaging medical supply inventory and ordering supplies as neededQualificationsExperience in a healthcare or medical office settingProficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systemsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsFamiliarity with medical terminology and proceduresStrong organizational and multitasking skillsDemonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a teamCompletion of an accredited Medical Assistant programCurrent Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certificationBasic Life Support (BLS) certificationKnowledge of medical office software applicationsUnderstanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy lawsExcellent attention to detail and accuracy in patient careMust be a team player, able to follow directions, and eager to learnMust have integrity and accuracy when entering and reporting numbers, names, and resultsPossess strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skillsMust have strong computer, typing, and technology skillsDemonstrate a professional presenceHave a positive attitude to maximize quality patient careDemonstrate patient advocacy and conflict resolution skills for patients of all ages and backgroundsMUST be able to show up to shift on timeJob Type: Full-Time: Monday - Friday, 7:00am/8:00am – 4:00pm-5:00pmEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent is requiredCertifications/Licenses: Medical Assistant Certification is preferredPay: Pay starts at $19.00 per hour and increases based on years of experienceAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
