We treat patients ranging from birth and up, focusing on both acute and chronic medical conditions. We are looking for someone with experience in patient care and a positive attitude. We are looking for a team member who cares about our patients as much as we do to join us!How you'll contributeAn MA who excels in this role:Duties include assisting with the direct care of patients as well as other clinic activities such as preparation and information documentation for the patient's visit including obtaining vitals, medical history and other pertinent information from the patient.Prepares exam rooms for patients.May assist with procedures as directed by the Provider.Assists with collection of lab samples.We offer on-the-job training and a career assistance program to help you become a Certified Medical Assistant.Why join usWe believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care. Additional requirements include:Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS). Certification must be completed within 30 days of hire and maintained.Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Education: High school diploma or equivalentWork experience: Past experience in the medical field is preferred, but working as a medical assistant in a physician's office is not required.More about Swain CommunitySwain Community Hospital is a 48-bed, fully accredited critical access hospital located in Bryson City, NC, which has been serving the residents of Swain and Graham counties since 1948.
