Responsible for the coordination of direct patient care activities and providing clinical support to providers within the clinical practice.Duties include:Check in patients, obtaining vital signs & medication reconciliationPatient medical history informationNavigating electronic health record system (EPIC)Communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients and physicians and will uphold Baptist's mission and core values that drive service excellence.Minimum Requirements:High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency1+ year(s) of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, clinic or similar setting required. Experience must include direct, hands-on patient care in a clinical setting, such as obtaining vital signs, documenting patient history and medications, and performing clinical procedures (e.g. EKG's, phlebotomy, administering injections or vaccines).Or Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program, that includes hands on patient experience as part of the curriculum, required.Upon hire, all Medical Assistants will undergo a clinical competency assessment and must successfully complete MA orientation.
