If this sounds like an organization you would like to be a part of, we would love to meet you.ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSEThe Medical Assistant will support various providers, advanced providers, and registered nurses to provide excellent patient-centered care and services within a dynamic team environment. This role will communicate with patients and perform clinical services to ensure high quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.**This opportunity is for a Float Medical Assistant role supporting the following clinics: Escondido and San Marcos. This role will be expected to float between these sites based on organizational needs.**ResponsibilitiesDirect Patient CareCommunicates and performs clinical care services with patientsTakes patient vital signs and obtains patient intake informationPerforms clinical procedures such as blood draws, vaccines, nebulizer treatments, ear lavages, and EKGsDiscusses patient needs and provides education and resources to patients directlyEnsures exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and set up for examinations and proceduresProvider and Team SupportCoordinates provider workflows to ensure efficient patient careEnsures provider has all pertinent information required for each patient visit including diagnostic images, labs and required screeningsAssists other providers and care teams in women's health, pediatrics and general medicine departments as neededClinical AdministrationUtilizes electronic health records to order, process and document clinical treatment plans for patients as directed by the providerConveys information to patients via telephone or email under the direction of a provider or Registered NurseProvides patient with requested documents after review to ensure forms are complete, accurate and executed by the providerCompletes ongoing/annual training for position complianceQualificationsEducation/ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredValid Medical Assistant certificate from an accredited program requiredCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire and must be maintained as a condition of employment. These courses must follow AHA guidelines but may be completed through approved online providers such as ProMed or other equivalent programs that meet recognized BLS standards.One year of medical assistant experience preferredBilingual (English/Spanish) preferredValid CA driver license and proof of auto insurance required and to be maintained as a condition of employment.Additional Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)Familiarity with medical procedures and terminologyProficiency with electronic health records system experience preferredIntermediate computer and data entry skillsMust use sound judgment to anticipate needs of patients and providersFlexibility with changing priorities and time sensitive deadlinesUse emotional and cultural intelligence to provide appropriate communication and patient careExemplify compassion to patients and team membersAbility to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyAbility to work as part of a team as well as independentlyAbility to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical mannerPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift/carry 15lbs/weightAbility to stand for long periods of timeCOMPLIANCE (Safety & HIPAA)Follows all safety procedures as outlined in Neighborhood Healthcare's Illness and Injury Prevention Plan (IIPP) and report any injuries and/or unsafe conditions immediatelyMaintains current knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to safe work practicesUses appropriate body mechanics to ensure an injury free environmentFamiliarity with location of nearest fire extinguisher and emergency exitsFollows all infection control procedures including blood-borne pathogen protocolsMaintains privacy of all patients, employee and volunteer information and access such information only on a need-to-know basis for business purposesComplies with all regulations regarding corporate integrity and security obligationsReports all behavior and/or activity that are unethical, fraudulent, or unlawfulNeighborhood Healthcare offers a generous benefit plan that includes: Partially company paid Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans. Two plus weeks of vacation, Nine Holidays including two Floating Holidays of your choosing, Sick/Personal time, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), 403b Retirement plan (similar to a 401k), optional Health and Wellness events, and much more!Pay range: $24.95 - $34.93 per hour, depending on experience.Note: This Float Medical Assistant role will include an additional $2.00 per hour float differential on top of the standard Medical Assistant pay rate.Compensation Disclosure: The posted salary range reflects the designated pay grade for this position. While this range represents the broader classification of the role, actual compensation will be based on several factors, including but not limited to: the candidate's overall knowledge, skills, and experience, market data and industry benchmarks, internal equity within the organization, Budgetary considerations and organizational needs.
