Job description
Medical AssistantWe are seeking a highly organized, team-oriented Medical Assistant to join our General Surgery practice. This role combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities, playing a vital role in supporting providers, ensuring efficient patient flow, and delivering high-quality care through patient rooming, phone management, and scheduling of clinic visits and surgical procedures.Provides patient care in the office setting. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care to patients of all ages and populations; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a licensed independent practitioner. Performs duties as assigned/delegated by other clinical support staff within the office. Adheres to regulatory requirements, clinical and office policies, and procedures and standards. Communicates with physicians and team members about patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.High school diploma or equivalentUp to one year experience in medical setting with certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent training and/or experience preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsGood organizational skillsBLS certificationAbility to work under pressure and be able to adapt to medical situationsAbility to stand/walk for up to eight hours/day, bend, stoop, twist, assist patients in turning, assist patient in arising from exam table, push wheelchair patients, and assist patient in arising from and returning to wheelchair.This is a bargaining union position.
