Job description
Medical Assistant Position at Westlake DermatologyWestlake Dermatology has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Medical Assistant to work with the provider at the Houston West University office. The schedule will be Monday-Thursday with Fridays off. Candidate must have great attention to detail and excellent customer service skills; must have the ability to multi-task; and prior EHR (EMA) experience is a plus. Prior dermatology or plastic surgery experience is preferred.The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician with patient care, including obtaining history, chief complaint, and consents; assisting with cosmetic procedures (including Botox, fillers, etc.); preparing exam rooms; escorting patients to room; preparing them for provider; and assisting in patient education regarding aftercare protocols and what to expect after treatment. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, EHR charting, stocking of rooms, and turnover of rooms. Medical Assistant is responsible for reviewing and managing schedule to ensure appointments are scheduled appropriately and supplies needed for procedure are available.Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma plus either completion of a college degree or a Medical Assistant program requiredMedical assistant certification is preferred1-2 years of prior experience in a dermatology or cosmetic/surgical clinic setting working as a medical assistant or clinical assistant preferredEssential SkillsExcellent communication skillsGood problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work as a team member in a fast-paced environmentWell-organized with attention to detailAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyEmpathetic with patient needs and concernsAbility to work well with provider, anticipating their needs in regard to patient treatmentKnowledge of medical and skin care terminologyProficient with general computer skillsAble to stand for long periods of timeJob Type: full-timeCompensation: $18.00 - $20 per hour (plus benefits and 401K options for full-time employees)Westlake Dermatology is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, disability or any other basis prohibited by law.
