Medical AssistantPride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client's medical facility in Howard Beach, NY. This is a 3+ month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance). And a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organisation!Specific Duties:Greet patients, assist with registration, verify insurance, and collect co-payments.Take vital signs, perform EKGs, and assist providers with patient care.Prepare exam rooms, perform basic lab testing, and handle/track patient specimens.Document patient information and encounters in Epic/EMR.Schedule referrals, follow-up appointments, and diagnostic testing; coordinate authorizations.Answer patient calls, provide follow-up support, and maintain exam room/lab supplies.Requirements:High School Diploma required; Associate Degree or college coursework preferred.Medical Assistant or medical office experience preferred; Urgent Care experience highly desired.Hands-on experience taking vital signs, performing EKGs, and basic lab testing.Strong customer service, communication, and computer skills.Epic/EMR experience preferred; knowledge of insurance and managed care plans is a plus.Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel between locations as needed.Additional Information:Location: Howard Beach, NY Job Type: 3+ months contract Schedule: Shift start & end times: 01:30 PM - 10:00 PM (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday) Pay Range: $20-$23/hr. on W2 *Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.For workers in the United States, PrideGlobal and its affiliates offers eligible employee's comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, pet insurance and employee discounts with preferred vendors.PrideGlobal and its affiliates are an equal opportunity employer.
