Job PostingWork Schedule40 hours per week | 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday - FridayBenefitsInsurance: medical, prescription, dental, vision, life, disabilityPaid Time Off: for illness, vacation and holidaysRetirement: 403(b) with matchEducation assistance & continuing education; many courses offered on-site at the hospitalQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; must be from an accredited institution and meet the Michigan Merit Curriculum requirementsCurrent Michigan Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) or equivalent experience or training is desirable, but will train individuals with a strong interest in and aptitude for a career in healthcareMust have excellent customer service, communication, and computer skills. This job also requires excellent attendance and attention to detail, plus compassion and empathyBLS (Basic Life Support) certification (available through Hillsdale Hospital)ResponsibilitiesPrepare patients for examinations and treatments by completing medical history and other required forms, collecting and recording patient vital signs, and performing point of care testing (POCT).Set up rooms with necessary equipment and supplies as appropriate for procedures, explain processes and tests to patients, and provide relevant materials to patientsAssist provider during procedures and chaperone as neededCarry out provider orders at time of provider visit or in follow up. This may include injections, breathing treatment, EKG, dressing changes, weight check, and blood pressure monitoringConduct and follow up on lab tests including blood draws and urine samplesEnsure all specimens are properly and accurately labeled, review test results, complete related paperwork and assure results are available to providers and documented in patient recordsClean and sterilize lab test equipment and instrumentsKeep exam rooms clean and fully stocked with suppliesAbide by all regulations, policies, work practices and instructionsIf it becomes necessary to meet patient care needs, you may be required to float to other clinicsWhy Hillsdale Hospital ClinicsHillsdale Hospital and its clinics are dedicated to excellence in healthcare community service, continued improvement, and respect for human life.
