Medical AssistantResponsibilities:Performs administrative and clinical duties under the direct supervision of a medical provider - physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner - in the medical office settingThe Medical Assistant works closely with the physician in the practice/center clinical setting, assists with direct patient care, and serves as the clinical liaison between physician and patient and between physician and the office staffThe incumbent is responsible for promoting communication among all care providers, patients, and office staff regarding the care plan for the patient as defined by the attending physicianThis individual attends to patients utilizing the age appropriate principles of growth and development for patients of all ages according to the practice specialtyTaking patients to roomsGreeting patientsObtaining vital signsAssisting with medical proceduresPerforming phlebotomyObtaining lab specimensPrior authorizationsAdhering to safety and infection guidelinesMaintaining electronic medical records (EMR)Calculating & administering medications & vaccinationsQualifications:Kentucky Medical Assistant DegreeMedical Assistant Certification preferredBLS CertificationAt least 1 year of experience preferredBenefits Offered:403(b)403(b) matchingHealth InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceFlexible Spending AccountHealth Savings AccountShort Term DisabilityCancer, Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital IndemnityPaid Vacation TimePaid Sick TimeWellness PlanWeekdays 8:00 am - 4:00 pm EST
