Medical AssistantUnder the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician, the Medical Assistant plays a crucial role as part of the patient care team, providing multi-skilled services to support the health, safety, and comfort of patients. All duties are performed in accordance with regulatory, state, and company standards, policies, and procedures.Key responsibilities include:Rooming patients timely for clinic appointments.Handling medication prior authorizations.Triaging incoming phone calls and patient messages, managing them according to priority.Coordinating patient appointments.Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure quality, patient-centered care.Working as a team to maintain a supportive and efficient environment.Traveling between Hartford and New Britain locations.Location: Hartford is the home location for this role with travel to New Britain one day a week.Why join our team? There is ample opportunity for growth within Hartford HealthCare and the Ayer Neuroscience Institute, and this role will prepare you for that next step.QualificationsEducation: Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below.Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.Experience: In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered. Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office preferred. EPIC EMR experience preferred.
