Summary:
Support the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks that are vital to patient care. Medical Assistants must adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines to ensure patient safety and confidentiality. They are expected to

you. We offer a range of support services, including a nurse navigator to guide you through every step of your cancer care. If
you’re
looking for a second opinion in the metro Milwaukee area or eastern Wisconsin, we make it easy to connect with an oncologist to confirm a diagnosis and review your treatment plan.
Our team of specialty oncologists, including radiation and surgical oncologists, specialize in minimally invasive cancer treatment tools and techniques. We offer access to
clinical trials
that may represent new cancer treatments and better ways to manage cancer treatment.
We’re
Looking For:
High School Diploma or GED
required

M
ust
have a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify.
Phlebotomy
skills are
preferred
.
What
You’ll
Do:
As a
Medical Assistant
,
you’ll
play a vital role
in
the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day
.
As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:
Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
Prepare patients for exams and
assist
providers during procedures.
Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist
frequently
throughout the workday.
Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with
ability
to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be
worn
as necessary.
Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
Physical Abilities Testing may be
required
