The successful candidates are responsible for promoting efficient patient flow and assisting the provider with patient care, procedures, tests and record keeping.Medical Assistant Opportunities at the following locations:UWMC Heart InstituteStadium Clinic (Full-time, Days)UWMC Digestive Health (Full-Time, Days)Montlake Emergency Department (90% Nights & 60% Midshift)UWMC Rehab Medicine (Full-Time Days)UWMC Neurology Clinic (Full-Time Days)Primary Responsibilities:Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile recordsPerform injectionsPrepare and clean exam roomsSubmit medication prior authorizationsRecognizes symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately reports to providerActs as a liaison between patient, patient's family and providersAssists provider with procedures and medical examsPerforms point of care testing and reports abnormal laboratory valuesAssists in transporting patients as requiredRequired Qualifications:Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation boardMust be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire.
