Job description

Medical AssistantAt Franciscan, our Medical Assistants are critical for supporting a variety of clinical duties for multiple ambulatory clinics. This role assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care, scheduling appointments, executing physician orders for lab testing, entering information in electronic medical record system, and functions as a liaison between patients, coworkers, and providers.Franciscan Health is a non-profit health care ministry with primary and specialty care physician groups located throughout Indiana. Of our 260+ locations, many are nationally recognized Centers of Health Care Excellence.What You Can Expect:Sign-on Bonus Available (Ask your Talent Acquisition Advisor about eligibility.)Schedule: Monday & Wednesday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Tuesday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Thursday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, and Friday 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM; no weekends or holidaysSupport four providers in a collaborative oncology clinic focused on delivering exceptional patient care and serviceProvide direct patient care in an outpatient setting, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, documenting in the electronic medical record, medication reconciliation, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and administering vaccines, injections, and medications under the supervision of an RN or ProviderDeliver outstanding customer service and communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and internal and external customers via phone, electronic messaging, and in personCoordinate patient care activities, including prior authorizations, referrals, sample medications, prescriptions, and refill requests as directedUtilize strong critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills to support providers and ensure continuity of careProfessional development opportunities and an enhanced benefits package with a compensation structure that rewards experience and expertiseQualifications:Required High School Diploma/GEDRequired Program Medical AssistingIn lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience-RequiredBasic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association- within 90 days of hireFor an MA, you must have one of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Allied Health or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Registry of Medical Assistants or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Performance Specialists (NPS)Travel is required: Never or RarelyEqual Opportunity EmployerIt is the policy of Franciscan Alliance to provide equal employment to its employees and qualified applicants for employment as otherwise required by an applicable local, state or Federal law.
