Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Urology team. The CMA will work closely with our physicians and clinical team to provide quality, compassionate care to our patients while helping ensure the office operates efficiently.The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, compassionate, and comfortable working in a fast-paced specialty environment. Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication are essential.ResponsibilitiesPrepare patients for examinations and proceduresObtain and accurately document vital signs, medical history, medications, and patient concernsRoom patients and assist providers throughout the patient visitAssist physicians with examinations and urologic procedures as directedPrepare and maintain examination and procedure roomsPerform clinical tasks within the scope of training and certificationAssist with specimen collection, labeling, and processing according to office protocolsPerform urine testing and other point-of-care testing as directedAssist with wound care and other clinical needs as directed by the providerProvide patients with instructions regarding medications, procedures, and follow-up care as directed by the providerDocument patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)Communicate patient concerns and clinical information to the provider and appropriate clinical staffAssist with prescription requests and medication-related tasks according to office proceduresCoordinate follow-up appointments and assist with patient care coordinationMaintain appropriate clinical supplies and notify management when supplies need to be replenishedMaintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environmentFollow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and company policies and proceduresProvide professional and compassionate patient carePerform other clinical and administrative duties as assignedRequirementsCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification requiredPrevious medical assisting experience preferredUrology or other specialty-office experience is a plusStrong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical proceduresExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinical environmentComfortable working directly with patients and providersProfessional, dependable, and team-orientedBasic computer and EMR proficiencyAbility to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirementsIdeal CandidateThe ideal candidate will be someone who takes pride in providing excellent patient care and enjoys being part of a collaborative clinical team.
