At OptumCare, part of the UnitedHealth Group family of business, you will build meaningful relationships with patients, their family members, health care providers and office staff while providing high quality direct patient care.Location: Carmel, INSchedule: Monday - Friday, 7:45am-5pm / No evenings, weekends, or holidays!Specialty: NeurologyPrimary Responsibilities:Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment & instrumentsRoom patients, obtain health history and check vital signsDocument patient care using electronic medical record softwareAdminister medicationsAssist providers with minor, in-office procedures and perform point-of-care testingSchedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals and answer patient calls as neededYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualification:High School Diploma or GED equivalentMedical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, or RMA) or must be willing to attain that certification within 9 months of employmentPreferred Qualifications:Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA or RMA)Medical Assistant diploma, technical certificate, or certification OR 4+ months of experience performing the critical skills of a Medical Assistant after on-the-job trainingCPR certificationExperience working as a Medical AssistantExperience with electronic medical records softwareExperience performing medical back office tasks including obtaining vital signs, injections/immunizations, phlebotomy, urinalysis and administering medicationsExperience performing medical front office tasks including scheduling appointments, prior authorizations, medication refills and referralsPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment.
