PRN Medical Assistant - Pain Management Naval Medical Center Portsmouth – Portsmouth, VAAre you a skilled Medical Assistant looking to support active-duty service members and their families? We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Medical Assistant to join a Pain Management team in a professional military healthcare setting.Position RequirementsHigh school diploma or GEDGraduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CAAHEP or ABHES) or completion of a U.S. Armed Forces medical training programMinimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience within the past 3 yearsCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red CrossNo licensure or board certification requiredKey ResponsibilitiesAssist providers during exams and proceduresPerform patient intake, record vital signs, and document chief complaintsAdminister medications and immunizations as directed by the physicianPlace IV catheters and perform blood drawsObtain lab and imaging resultsSchedule appointments and communicate test results to patientsMaintain accurate medical records and scan documentationSupport clinic flow and provide direct patient careOperate clinical equipment including EKG machines, thermometers, infusion pumps, and blood pressure monitorsFollow sterilization procedures and assist with specimen handlingPerform administrative and front desk duties as neededWhy Join Us?Supportive clinical environmentConsistent scheduleOpportunity to serve military communitiesGain experience in a specialized Pain Management settingApply today to bring your clinical skills to a team dedicated to excellence in patient care!
