Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) of Franciscan works under the direction of the Registered Nurse and physicians in the clinic setting. This position contributes to the assessment of the health status of individuals, participating in the development of the plan of care, implementing the appropriate care methods, and maintaining a safe and effective environment for all.Franciscan Health is a non-profit health care ministry with primary and specialty care physician groups located throughout Indiana and Illinois. Of our 260+ locations, many are nationally recognized Centers of Health Care Excellence.MA or LPN, Clay Township, Family Medicine, Full-time, Monday through FridayPlan and manage patient care according to each patient's needs, and in collaboration with the Physician and Registered Nurse.Interview patients and record their medical history.Measure and record patients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, or respiration.Administer prescribed medications or starts intravenous fluids, noting times and amounts on patients' charts.Observe patients, charting and reporting changes in patients' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action.Provide basic patient care or treatments, such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas or douches, rubbing with alcohol, massaging, or performing catheterizations.QualificationsRequired Associate's Degree Nursing / Patient CareRequired Certificate Nursing / Patient Care2 years Nursing/Patient Care PreferredBasic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart AssociationLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - State Licensing BoardTravel is required: Equal Opportunity EmployerIt is the policy of Franciscan Alliance to provide equal employment to its employees and qualified applicants for employment as otherwise required by an applicable local, state or Federal law.
