We challenge our team to spearhead initiatives, break down barriers, and advance their expertise.We Require:One year of experience as a medical assistant, performing front and back-office Medical Assistant duties, including experience with venipuncture, electronic health records, phlebotomy, patient vitals, and EKGsMedical Assistant Certificate of Completion from an accredited healthcare training programRegistered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification from the American Medical TechnologistsHigh school diploma or GEDJob Contributions:Performs duties within the medical assistant scope of practice, under the direct supervision of a physician, mid-level provider, or Nurse Manager, to ensure quality patient careCompletes required documentation in the electronic health record or other modalityVerifies dental, behavioral, and medical health information with outside healthcare organizationsConducts office duties, including copying, filing, scanning, scheduling, and document preparationResponds to and directs clinical calls effectively and professionally in-person, telephonically, and onlineMaintains confidentiality of all information in all communication and interactionsWorking Conditions:Ability to work inside a jail and stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time throughout the shift while accurately handling a high volume of work, communicating with a culturally diverse patient population, and adapting to frequent changes, interruptions, and unscheduled tasksPosition includes day or night shift work, which may include weekends and holidaysTravel or floating to various clinical locations is required within a 5-mile radiusMust be able to respond to emergenciesMust maintain CPR and First Aid certification and get on the floor to perform CPR/chest compressions, push medical equipment, climb stairs, and lift patients on a gurneyMust be able to pass a fingerprint background check and maintain MCSO jail accessSelection Procedure:Consideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applicationsCandidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profileMust pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitiveMaricopa County is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants.
