Job description
Advanced Medical Assistant PositionThis position is responsible for independently performing advanced Medical Assistant duties which may include advanced procedures specific to department, coordination of the work for other Medical Assistants, or performing patient or population based care navigation. The Medical Assistant provides advanced clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. This role includes but not limited to rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting in the electronic medical record, assisting with procedures, supporting providers, and promoting efficient patient flow while delivering patient-centered care.What You Will DoFacilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.Completely independent with all front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.Assists manager with developing and facilitating process improvement initiatives.Additional ResponsibilitiesPerforms other duties as assigned.Complies with all policies and standards.For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
