Medical Assistant OpportunityCLS Health is a growing healthcare system in Houston, Texas that is taking a different approach to healthcare. We're a dynamic team on a mission to provide better healthcare options for Houstonians!We are Looking for:Someone who is an experienced Medical Assistant for a multispecialty medical practice. The medical assistant should perform a supportive role in delivering comprehensive care to the patient that is safe, effective, and efficient.Responsibilities:Rooming the patientInterview/update patient's chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals.Must be proficient in taking manual blood pressure readings.Prepares patient charts a week in advance and verifies benefits reports.Prepares patient charts a week in advance.Scanning documents to the appropriate patient charts.Make sure all rooms are stocked and clean before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of the day.Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain Pre-Authorization/Determination for medications.Ensures that the physician is in-network and authorized/up-to-date referral is in the patient's chart.Assist the physician in the exam room with any wound care and/or procedures.Follow up on calls/voicemails and document phone log/conversationEducates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered.Schedules patients for upcoming appointments after the physician sees the patient.Obtains authorization before sending any orders when needed.Main fax line– Distribute faxes to appropriate team member(s)Performs related duties as required.Benefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental InsuranceDisability insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceRequirementsCertified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or a graduate of an approved Medical Assistant programMust be bilingual in English and SpanishExperience in a medical office or customer service environment preferredExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to multitask and prioritize effectivelyStrong attention to detail and accuracyProficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applicationsKnowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred
