PRN Medical AssistantAcademic Alliance in Dermatology is hiring a PRN Medical Assistant to support providers across multiple clinic locations in the Tampa Bay area. This is a flexible, as-needed position ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in both medical and cosmetic dermatology.Details About the Role:Typical coverage: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) - Must be available on these daysPRN / as-needed based on clinic coverageSchedule may be provided anywhere from same-day to a few weeks in advanceHours are not guaranteed, but will cross train in Front Desk duties to help with additional coverageThis is a float role supporting providers across 20+ clinic locations throughout the Tampa Bay area (Clearwater, Largo, St. Petersburg, Tampa, and surrounding areas)Must be comfortable traveling between clinic locations as scheduledPay range: $23-24/hourMedical Assistant experience in any specialty is welcome; dermatology experience is a plus but not required. This is a great opportunity for pre-med, pre-PA, or post-bacc students in a gap year seeking hands-on clinical experience; however, candidates should be available to consistently work the above schedule.At Anne Arundel Dermatology, we give exceptional care to our patients and to each other. We provide hands-on training and long-term career growth opportunities from within.ResponsibilitiesRoom patients, confirm information, and collect vitalsSupport providers during exams and dermatologic proceduresPrepare instruments, trays, and treatment rooms for clinic useHandle specimens and ensure proper labeling and routingDocument patient interactions, instructions, and updates in EMRAnswer patient questions and assist with follow-up needsMaintain cleanliness, sterilization, and organization of clinical areasMonitor and restock supplies, removing expired materials as neededAssist with daily clinic flow and adapt to different provider preferences across locationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrior clinical experience in a patient care setting (Medical Assistant, CNA, or similar) highly preferredCompletion of a Medical Assistant or related healthcare program preferredCandidates with a pre-med or pre-PA background are encouraged to applyDermatology experience is a plus, but not requiredPhysical Requirements:Standing and walking for extended periods of timeFrequent bending, reaching, and use of hands for clinical tasksAbility to lift and carry up to 30 poundsExposure to a clinical environment, including sharps and medical supplies
