You will assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a Physician or Advanced Practice Provider. Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program preferred.Experience: Previous medical practice, clinic or hospital experience preferred. EMR experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology is required. Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills required.Licenses/Certification: Current CPR/BLS, medical assistant certification preferred.Essential Functions:Triage phone calls, follow-up on phone callsTrack operative reports, lab and pathology reports and call patients with resultsPlace patients in room after taking vitals and health historyAssist surgeons with minor procedures in officeClean, turn over exam roomsAuthorize prescriptions, procedures, radiologyMeticulous follow-up with patients regarding lab/radiology/pathology test resultsOversee patient wait times, ensure clinic runs efficientlyTrack operative reports, lab results, pathologyInstrument sterilization oversightSpecimen handling, processing and paperworkCheck-in, check-out, surgery scheduling and coordination help if neededPositive attitude, open to change, willing to work in a team setting, respectfulPhysical Requirements:Occasionally (0-33%) – stooping, stairs, lifting 0-20 lbs, pushing/pulling 20-50 lbsFrequently (34–66%) - standing, walking, sitting, handling of itemsContinuously (37-100%) - see with corrective eyewear, hear clearly with assistanceShift - Day Schedule - M-F, 9am-5pm Status - FTCompensation: $20.84 - $25.00/hour depending on experience.There is no deadline to apply for this position; we are accepting applications on an ongoing basis until a finalist is selected.Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
