Medical Assistant Streetsboro Pulmonary and Sleep
A Brief Overview: The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. This role includes but not limited to rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting in the electronic medical record, assisting with procedures, supporting providers, and promoting efficient patient flow while delivering patient-centered care.
What You Will Do:
Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
Responsible for all front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
Performs patient centered care delegated by Provider.
Provides a safe environment for patients.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
Qualifications:
Education:
Completion of a Medical Assistant Program (Required) and High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
Work Experience: 1+ years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. (Required proficiency) Able to organize changing work assignments. (Required proficiency) Medical terminology knowledge. (Preferred proficiency) Basic patient care skills (Required proficiency) Patient focused (Required proficiency) Positive and willing to learn (Required proficiency) Computer skills (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (Preferred) BLS (Basic Life Support) (Preferred within 90 Days)
