Job description
Medical AssistantA professional multi-skilled person dedicated to assisting in all aspects of medical practice including administrative and clinical procedures under the direct supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician.Job Requirement:Take patient's vital signs. Prepare patients for the provider's care. Assist with patient examinations or treatments.Correctly document all entries in the medical record, either electronic or hard copy, to include signature, date and time.Administer medication as directed by and under the direct supervision of licensed physician.Observe and report patients' signs or symptoms. Collect routine laboratory specimens as directed by the provider.Administer basic first aid.Participates in performance improvement projects.Participates as an active care team member in the coordination of patient care.Provides a standard of excellence as it relates to customer service for patients, staff members, and other customers.Qualification:Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required - or within 6 monthsBasic Life Support (BLS) required - at time of hire- American Red Cross or American Heart AssociationMedical Terminology Certificate preferred - at time of hireA requirement of having completed an MA program that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies, a national or state medical association, or an agency approved by the boardHigh School Diploma / GED Required at time of hireMay travel to other clinics under additional dutiesAdditional duties as assigned may vary.UFJPI is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drugfree Workplace
