Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C)MultiCare's Pulse Heart Institute is a physician led institute with multi-specialty partnership with cardiothoracic surgery, vascular and cardiovascular service lines. Our team and state-of-the-art programs create a world-class health care organization and the destination center for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular care with complex structural heart disease and interventions, advanced heart failure service as well as advanced imaging with cutting edge technologies.FTE:.01 Per Diem, Shift: Days, Schedule: Mon-Fri 8a-5pPrimary work locations are Tacoma, Puyallup and Auburn clinics. This role could require occasional travel to Olympia when needed.The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) is an integral part of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team working under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. Work situations require performance of safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-C. The MA-C has continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients and their families/caregivers.Responsibilities:Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include: Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staffInterviewing patientsObtaining vital signsAssisting patients in preparing for exams or treatmentsPerforming specimen collection, including venipunctureAdministration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competencyRelaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregiversFulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include: Sending and receiving of patient medical recordsFacilitating patient referralsPreparing forms for patientsRequirements:Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferredCurrent BLS certificationWhy Pulse Heart Institute?Physician-led careProven excellenceComprehensive cardiovascular carePeople-first cultureWell-being and supportPacific Northwest lifestylePay and Benefit ExpectationsWe provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $24.83 - $35.71 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
