Job TitleTidewater Physicians for Women is seeking an experienced and certified OB/GYN medical biller. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits.QualificationsExperience in medical billing for an OB/GYN medical practice is required.Experience with medical coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9) is required.Proficiency in using medical office systems and software for billing purposes.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required.Knowledge of billing procedures of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers and understanding of financial billing requirements.Knowledge of organization structure, workflow and operating procedures within a high-volume medical billing environment.Knowledge of Federal, State and payer regulations regarding medical billing compliance.Knowledge of mainframe-based medical billing and editing systems.Skill in keyboarding and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.Skill in establishing and maintaining effective interpersonal relationships.Skill in listening to others, assessing situations and solving problems.Ability to display customer focus and professionalism and to exhibit team-building skills.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, providers, and insurance companies.Education, Certification and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent.3-5 years of experience within medical billing, collections, and/or reimbursement.OB/GYN Medical billing: 2 years (Required).Virginia Beach, VA 23454 or Norfolk, VA 23502.BenefitsJoin our team as a Billing Representative where you can contribute to the efficiency of our healthcare services while advancing your career in the medical billing field.Pay: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year.401(k).401(k) matching.Dental insurance.Disability insurance.Employee assistance program.Flexible spending account.Health insurance.Life insurance.Paid time off.Vision insurance.Work in the office.8 hour shift.ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing billing processes, ensuring accuracy in medical billing and facilitating efficient medical collections.This position requires a solid understanding of medical terminology and coding systems, including ICD-10 and CPT, to support our healthcare operations effectively.Process and manage medical billing claims accurately and efficiently.Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10 and ICD-9 to ensure proper billing practices.Answer patient phone calls and answer patient questions concerning their billing statements.Review patient accounts for accuracy and completeness, addressing discrepancies as needed.Handle medical collections by following up on outstanding claims and payments.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and billing regulations.Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing issues or disputes.Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to medical billing.
