Insurance Claims Follow-Up SpecialistPosition Summary: Responsible for follow-up of insurance claims and denials, backup insurance company and patient payment posting, charge entry, electronic billing, patient accounts, and provider credentialing.Role and ResponsibilitiesReviewing claims outstanding over 90 days.Researching within Nextgen for reason claim not paid.Speak with insurance companies regarding unpaid or denied claims.If necessary, submit documentation to insurance companiesClear credit balances for patients and insurance companies.Backup Charge EntryElectronic BillingPayment postingPatient Accounts ClerkProvider credentialing with insurance companiesChota in-house credentialing for ProvidersComplete annual trainingsReview Policies and Procedures that pertain to job annuallyParticipate in Patient Centered Medical Home Care Team collaboration.Performs other duties as assigned or requested.Participates in quality improvement activities.Regular and predictable attendance.Ability to cooperate and work well with others.Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings.Qualifications and Education RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentExperience working with medical claims, Insurance companies, patient accounts, insurance payment posting and charge postingPreferred SkillsKnowledge of modern office equipmentInterpersonal/human relations skillsOrganizational skillsTelephone etiquette skillsAbility to maintain records and filesAbility to operate personal computerAbility to maintain confidentiality
