Job description
Medical Director, Transplant Nephrology

Location
Morgantown, West Virginia (additional sites in West Virginia and Pennsylvania may be assigned; travel expected).
Responsibilities
Lead the renal transplant program, collaborating with the Surgical Director to manage clinical operations in compliance with UNOS bylaws and CMS regulations.
Provide guidance in the evaluation and planning of kidney and heart/kidney transplant patients through all phases of transplantation.
Participate in program growth with the leadership team, including the Patient Selection Committee, QAPI, strategic planning, and research initiatives.
Practice and support the Nephrology section’s clinical needs, including inpatient and outpatient nephrology.
Teach medical students, residents, and fellows; mentor and educate Transplant Staff in the care of kidney patients.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and eligibility for a state medical license.
Completed fellowship in nephrology and fellowship in transplant nephrology.
Board certified in internal medicine and certified or eligible in nephrology.
United Nations Organising Committee for International Sports (UNOS) and Organ Procurement Transplant Network (OPTN) requirements met.
At least one year of experience in transplant nephrology.
All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Schedule
40 hours per week. Exempt position.
