Assignment Length: 5+ months
Location: 2000 Church St, Nashville, TN 37203
Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM, Monday-Friday

Job Summary
The Medical Lab Scientist III performs routine and complex laboratory testing while ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality results. The role involves operating and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation, performing quality control procedures, and making technical decisions related to testing and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Determine specimen acceptability according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with departmental SOPs.
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
Make technical decisions related to testing and problem-solving.
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents and controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
Monitor and replenish testing bench supplies as needed.
Assist with specimen processing when required.
Maintain a safe work environment and use appropriate PPE.
Work independently while collaborating effectively with the laboratory team.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology , or a related field, or meet applicable CLIA and state regulatory requirements.
5-7 years of clinical laboratory testing experience required.
State Medical Technologist license may be required, depending on the position requirements.
ASCP or AMT certification may be preferred or required based on the specific requirements.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to pass a standardized color vision screening .
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts based on business needs.
