Medical Payment Posting SpecialistPut your attention to detail to work in healthcare.If you're organized, accurate, comfortable working with numbers and data, and enjoy figuring out the details, this could be a great next step in your career.Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a full-time Medical Payment Posting Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle team. You'll play an important behind-the-scenes role in keeping our healthcare operations running smoothly by accurately posting payments, processing insurance adjustments and denials, and helping ensure patient accounts remain accurate and balanced.You don't need years of healthcare billing experience to get started. We're looking for someone with a strong office or customer service background who is detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable learning new systems, and ready to grow.If you're looking to build experience in healthcare revenue cycle while working for an organization where the mission matters, we'd love to meet you.Why You'll Love This Role:Build valuable experience in healthcare billing, insurance reimbursement, and revenue cycle operations.Put your attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills to work every day.Learn the ins and outs of insurance payments, denials, adjustments, and patient accounts.Join a collaborative Revenue Cycle team where accuracy and teamwork matter.Receive training and opportunities to continue developing your healthcare knowledge and skills.Build experience that can open doors to additional career opportunities throughout Chestnut.Responsibilities:Accurately post payments received from insurance companies and patients.Apply contractual adjustments and discounts according to established procedures.Ensure payments, co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance are correctly allocated and accounts remain balanced.Review and process insurance denials using appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding information and route claims for follow-up when needed.Assist with account write-offs as directed by leadership.Research payment information and discrepancies to help maintain accurate patient accounts.Maintain organized Revenue Cycle records and documentation.Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve payment and account questions.Participate in team meetings, training, and department initiatives.Protect the confidentiality and security of patient, financial, and organizational information.Promote Chestnut's culture of customer service excellence in all interactions.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.Comfortable navigating websites, software systems, and electronic records.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to identify discrepancies, research information, and follow established processes.Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive patient and financial information in accordance with HIPAA requirements.Chestnut offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, and professional growth, including:Health, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement savings plan with company matchGenerous paid time offTuition reimbursement opportunitiesEmployee Assistance ProgramProfessional development and continuing educationCareer advancement opportunities throughout the organizationAbout Chestnut:Since 1973, Chestnut Health Systems has been improving lives through integrated behavioral health, primary care, substance use treatment, prevention, research, and community partnerships.Today, more than 800 compassionate employees serve individuals and families throughout Illinois and Missouri.
