Position Summary
A leading oncology diagnostics organization is seeking a field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to serve as a scientific and clinical expert supporting an oncology diagnostics portfolio with a primary focus on breast cancer. This is a high-visibility, highly collaborative role working closely with oncology sales teams and clinical stakeholders across large territories.
Responsibilities
Facilitate scientific and clinical exchange with Medical Oncologists, APPs (NPs/PAs), and KOLs through in-person and virtual interactions
Present technical and clinical data at Tumor Boards, Grand Rounds, roundtables, and regional programs
Communicate the chemistry, clinical utility, and supporting evidence behind oncology diagnostic assays
Partner closely with sales, marketing, and internal scientific teams to support education, speaker training, and material review
Identify and recommend participants for advisory boards and medical education initiatives
Participate in regional strategy and commercial planning meetings
Gather field insights and relay scientific feedback internallyTriage and respond to clinical and scientific inquiries from the field
Maintain scientific and clinical expertise through conferences, literature review, and collaboration with internal experts
Travel extensively within the assigned territory (~75%)
Requirements
PhD required in life sciences or related scientific discipline
Postdoctoral training preferred
1–3 years of clinical, medical, or scientific experience within medical device / diagnostics / biotech
True oncology focused background
Hands‑on cancer research or clinical exposure (not coursework‑only)
Preference for training under physician‑scientists
