Medical ScribeHennepin Healthcare is an integrated system of care that includes HCMC, a nationally recognized Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and acute care hospital, as well as a clinic system with primary care clinics located in Minneapolis and across Hennepin County. This is a 0.80 FTE position (64 hours per two week pay period - 32 hours/week required) and follows a rotating schedule that includes days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, with the schedule released 2-4 weeks in advance. The pay for this position is $21/hour.Responsibilities:Accompany the provider into the exam room to document provider/patient interactionsAccurately documents history, physical examination, laboratory, medication, and radiology notes as verbalized by the patient and providerTranscribes dictated information from the provider into the medical recordBenefits of Medical Scribe Position:Paid, in-person, 1:1, on-the-job trainingMentorship and learning opportunities to expand healthcare knowledge and build connections within the fieldOpportunities for letters of recommendation from MDs/DOs, PAs and NPsNo typing speed minimum requirementTo be considered for the position, all of the below application materials must be included/completed.Resume attached to applicationLetter of interest attached to application addressing the following:In 500 words or less, please describe 1) your career goals, 2) how the HCMC Medical Scribe position aligns with these aspirations, and 3) when you plan to matriculate into Medical or PA school (or other).Anticipated FALL SEMESTER work availability survey filled out hereAnticipated SPRING SEMESTER work availability survey filled out hereMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED, plus two years of post-secondary education - or - an approved equivalent combination of education and experienceStrongly Preferred Qualifications:Open work availability.At least a Junior in college, preferably with coursework in medical transcription, medical terminology, human anatomy, and core sciencesRelatable experience working in healthcare or clinical environmentExperience using electronic health record systemReliable, punctual candidates with interest in medicine and/or pre-professional health trackApplicants with prompt responsiveness and thorough communication skillsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Ability to work closely with medical professionals during interactions with patients in a hospital or clinical settingStrong written communication skills, including the ability to listen carefully and accurately transcribe verbal communications on a real-time basisStrong keyboarding skills to facilitate the transcription of communicationsAbility to work well in a critical environment and be detail orientedStrong organizational and customer service skillsAbility to prioritize work based on volume and deadlinesYou've made the right choice in considering Hennepin Healthcare for your employment.
