Employment Type: Full TimeShift: Day ShiftSaint Francis Hospital and Medical Center a member of Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Medical Assistant-Secretary to join our Outpatient Heart Failure team.The Medical Assistant / Secretary functions in a supportive role of the healthcare team and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and care to all patients and clients in the Hoffman Heart and Vascular Institute and is responsible for the coordination of administrative tasks and clinical support for the Physicians and Practitioners. The Medical Secretary has administrative responsibilities for approximately 30% of the time and Clinical responsibilities account for approximately 70% of the time.What will you do:Performs patient greeting and check inManages all incoming calls and provides exceptional customer service in person and over the phone with patient, staff and family members and triaging phone calls as appropriateSchedules appointments and procedures for exams and regularly communicating with office staffPrepares and maintains patient charts and obtains pre-certifications and authorizations for patients' examsCoordinates daily patient flow. Rooms patient (including documenting chief complaint, allergy, vitals, medication)Explains test procedures to patients and interprets purpose as directed by physicianMaintains proficiency with office computer systems.
