Job description
Medical Office AssistantAssist physicians in providing high-quality patient care, while exhibiting strong customer service skills to all patients and the overall practice.Brown University Health employees are expected to successfully role model the organization's values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence as these values guide our everyday actions with patients, customers and one another.Responsibilities:Responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out from their appointment and coordinating specialist appointments for patientsCollects patient balances, copays, and credit cards at time of serviceReviews lists of patients who need appointments and calls to schedule when dueVerifies demographics and insurance carrier information for every patientAssists patients with Kiosk sign inComplies with OSHA and DOH standardsSchedules, coordinates, and tracks STAT patient referrals and pre-authorizationsAdheres to Brown Health Medical Group Primary Care guidelines for protecting patients' demographic, clinical and financial informationProvides superior customer service and outstanding patient careAttends meetings/workshops as they relate to current position and office workflowsPerforms other miscellaneous job-related duties as assignedBasic Knowledge:High school diploma required.Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology required.Must be very organized.Must have excellent communication and customer service skills and demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of patients and families.Experience:Six months' experience in a medical office.Pay Range: $18.13-$29.90EEO Statement: Brown University Health is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and maintaining a work environment free from all forms of unlawful discrimination and harassment.Location: Warwick-43 Jefferson Blvd. - 43 Jefferson Blvd. Warwick, Rhode Island 02888Work Type: 8:00am-5:00pmWork Shift: DayDaily Hours: 8 hoursDriving Required: No
