Job description
DutiesHelpVisually inspect required instruments for cleanliness, damage, and/or deterioration; conduct equipment testing; package surgical items individually or into trays; and document shortages.Determine proper sterilization procedures; load items and biological quality control tests properly; and operate and clean sterilizers.Initiate sterile item recall protocol when deficiencies are found in previously sterilized loads (i.e., positive spore notification or discovery of a wet load).Ensure appropriate climate control measures are maintained; verify expiration dates and rotate stock; and maintain stock levels in sterile supply cabinets.Perform daily quality assurance testing on all equipment used in the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments.
