Job description

Shift: 5:30 PM - 6:00 AM
Experience:
• 3 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical Float Pool experience.
• 3 months of travel experience is preferred.
• 3 months of Epic experience is required with any experience within the last 12 months.
• ADN completion required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 6 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.
Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Please upload any certifications or health documents you have to your profile to expedite your on-boarding process.
Additional Details:
An interview with the unit manager may not be available prior to offer. If you do not interview with the unit manager, you may interview with a third-party clinical nurse manager.
Required Credentials: - If a candidate has NP licensure, ThedaCare will only consider them for an NP role, not a lower position.
Preferred Skills/Experience: - 1 travel contract strongly preferred. - Pre/post cath, post pacemaker, and TR Band experience strongly preferred.
Special Requests: - Any missed shift must be made up within 2 weeks of the absence.
Unit Details: - Primary cases across facilities include medical/surgical, general surgical, oncology, renal, CIWA, CHF, COPD, stroke, surgical trauma, ortho, and DKA; pediatric patients are rare. - TCN 5th floor cares for cardiac patients including pre/post cath and pacemakers. - TCN Neuro cares for stroke, post-TNK, and neurosurgery patients. - Assignments are based on skillset and staffing needs. - RNs are paired with LPN/CNA support staff based on acuity.
Shift & Scheduling: - Up to every other weekend. - Holiday rotation as needed. - No call.
Floating Requirements: - Will float throughout all Med/Surg units at TC Appleton and TC Neenah; may float to all ThedaCare facilities as needed, primarily TC Neenah and TC Appleton, and must be open to smaller locations as needed. - Traveler will only take patients within their skillset.
9 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 3 years
1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
Proof of identification required
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
