Medical Surgical Registered Nurse #
$1,915 - $2,005/week Albemarle North, NC
RN-Registered Nurse // Med Surg / Telemetry $1,267 weekly stipends $18.00 - $20.50/hour $648.0 - $738 weekly base pay Onsite Contract Starts 10/26/ weeks
Night Shift 12 hours/day 3 days/week

Floating Requirements: Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises

No Trauma Designation
Not a Teaching Hospital – no residents/students
Advanced Primary Stroke Center
Radius rule: Traveler s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
Unit Information: Beds: 27
Census: Average 20
Minimum Years of Experience required: 18 months Med/Tele experience
Will you accept a first-time traveler: Not preferred, will consider (Resource Team)
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Stroke, COPD, Chest Pain, Altered Mental Status, GI bleed
Patient Ratios: RN: 1:5-6, acuity dependent - (surge staffing could increase ratios up to 1:7-8)
LPN: 1:5-6, acuity dependent - (surge staffing could increase ratios up to 1:7-8)
CNA: 1:9
Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Skills required: General Med/Tele skillset: Stroke experience/NIH assessments, Chest tube management, PIV starts, trach care, Cardiac rhythm interpretation, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc), PCA pumps
Medication gtt management to include: Cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF
Support within the Department: CNA: Duties: Yes, CNA s can insert foleys if certified and remove IV s for Discharge if certified, in addition to Vitals, ADLs, etc.
Receptionist/HUC: Dayshift only
Charge nurse – may or may not have patient assignment
Phlebotomy, 24/7
No designated IV/VAT Team
RT, 24/7
Hospitalist, 24/7
Telemetry monitoring/tech: Yes
Technology/Equipment: EMR: Epic
IV Pump: Alaris
Med dispensing: Omnicell
Monitors: Philips
Floating: If yes, where: Within region and scope of practice
Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable
Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises
If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)

RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
