Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:
• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

• Candidates must have a Georgia license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: Required skills include tracheostomy care, chest tube management, peripheral IV starts and care, central line management, wound care, postoperative monitoring, cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, Glucommander, insulin drips, heparin drips, and drips titrated to heart rate but not blood pressure.
Required Credentials: Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) is required; the traveler must pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance.
Unit Details: Patients include acute or chronic disease, postoperative surgeries, and common medical-surgical comorbidities including diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, and electrolyte imbalances. CNA support includes vital signs, glucose checks, bathing, feeding, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, patient transport as needed, and obtaining blood from the blood bank. A unit secretary is available 7a-11p; a house-wide call secretary covers 11p-7a. Charge nurses may have patients. Most units use lab-collect phlebotomy; nurses draw blood from CVLs. There is no IV team; a PICC team is available. Discharge nurses are available. Respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage is available 24/7. Telemetry monitoring is provided by a central telemetry unit. Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication-dispensing, Philips monitors, VS3 vital-sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips, cardiac telemetry monitoring, portable Dynamap vital-sign monitors, bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, external fixators, chest tubes, JP drains, Hemovac drains, Glucommander, PCA pain management, and suction machines.
Shift & Scheduling: Weekend rotation: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period (3 out of 12 shifts). Must work one day of each major holiday: Thanksgiving Day 11/26 or the day after Thanksgiving 11/27, Christmas Eve 12/24 or Christmas Day 12/25, and New Year’s Eve 12/31 or New Year’s Day 1/1. No call.
Floating Requirements: Will float to all adult med-surg/telemetry units in-house. A resource team floats to all units.

1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
