Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 18 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living • Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: General Med/Tele skills required include stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, Foley insertion/management, etc.), and PCA pumps. Medication gtt management is required, including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IVF.
Required Credentials: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement).
Special Requests: RTO of up to 6 days off may be approved, excluding holidays; time must be added to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.
Unit Details: Common diagnoses include chest pain, syncope, and angina. The CNA-to-patient ratio is 1:10. Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing are used. A resource RN assists with admissions and discharges. RT and hospitalist support is available 24/7 but is not dedicated to the unit. Phlebotomy is a combined effort between RNs and the IV team. An IV/VAT team is available.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. The schedule cycle is every 6 weeks. No call.
Floating Requirements: Travel nurses are first to float to other nursing units and provide flexible staffing support based on patient care needs and staffing demands. They will take patients within scope of practice on any unit, including a Med-Surg assignment in ICU or Med-Surg holds in the ED. Floating could include any facility within Region 1 if the need arises: Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH (pediatrics only)).
6 days maximum time off
1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
