Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience.
• 3 months of travel experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is required.
• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.
• ADN completion required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >40 miles from facility to be submitted.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.
• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: - 1 travel assignment required. - Recent Epic experience required.
Required Credentials: - Associate degree or certificate.
Unit Details: - Post-surgical patient population includes Whipple procedures, vascular cases, pre/post heart caths, bariatric, ENT, podiatry, open abdomens, dementia, AMS, CIWA/detox, q2 hour turns, fall risks, and thyroid surgeries. - Expected skills include PIV insertion, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI, stable drips (heparin, Lasix, Protonix), epidural management, ostomy care, blood product administration, telemetry interpretation, wound care (packing, wound vacs, dressing changes), and pre/post heart cath care (Fem./TR bands, no interventions). - Ratios: Days 1:5-6; nights 1:6-7; charge nurse takes a patient assignment. - Teaching hospital; may require precepting students and new hires.
Shift & Scheduling: - Three weekends out of every six-week schedule. - Every other holiday. - Flexible contract hours: 48 per week upon request.
Floating Requirements: - First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (IN) and potentially Deaconess Henderson (KY). 2-hour notice is given for cross-campus float. Mid-shift float within the same campus; cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.
14 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
Proof of identification required
